This jellyfish breeding aquarium is designed to be simple and user friendly.

But also to ensure the best possible conditions for the breeding and keeping of jellyfish.

The jellyfish breeding aquariums were specially designed for the breeding of jellyfish. These aquariums are ideal for keeping very small jellyfish (screen diameter >5mm).

The aquariums are connected to an external filter chamber. This considerably reduces the amount of water changes required. This ensures that the jellyfish live in water values that are as constant as possible and can therefore grow better. In addition, it reduces the risk of damaging the jellyfish by too many water changes.

The required filter technology is individually designed according to the requirements of our customers.

It is also possible to produce these aquariums in other dimensions.

Nowadays it is possible to breed jellyfish successfully with the right aquariums. Nevertheless, the effort is great and therefore there are only a few public aquariums or institutions that breed jellyfish themselves. Aquariums that have had great success with jellyfish breeding so far include the Aquarium Berlin, Vienna and Lisbon.

It already starts with the water. Since jellyfish consist of over 95% water, it is elementary to guarantee a good and constant water quality.

Depending on the type of jellyfish being bred, there are different requirements for the water. Some jellyfish like the water to be colder and have a higher salt content, for example.

The feed also plays an important role in rearing. Special food must be used or bred for the small larvae. This is smaller than the normal food and also has a higher nutritional value.

In addition to this, several tanks of different sizes are needed for breeding. The pool is changed according to changes in food demand and water flow. The jellyfish are then relocated to the next larger tank. The most difficult step is always to stimulate the polyps to strobilate.
